    45 Colt revolver/rifle

Anyone seen one? Not sure who makes it but was told they call it the 'Judge'. Ive seen two at the range. Guys were getting 3 - 5 inch groups at 70 feet over iron sights. What really amazed me was how quiet they were. From four lanes away it sounds like a 22 LR. Can't say I'd buy one but I can see how someone into Cowboy Action Shooting might find it appealing.

    .

And it shouldn't be shot when grasping the forend, w/o protection (leather) on the human forearm to protect the arm against the debris that's sure to exit the gun at the cylinder/barrel juncture.

Experience is a wonderful thing - It lets you recognize a mistake, when you make it again.

They feature a sheet metal gap shield but I don't know if it's effective. The original Judge is a inaccurate revolver and a horrible shotgun based on a sample of three that I've shot. The full length Circuit Judge may be better but I doubt it. My .02

Actuall, the circuit judge has a rather ugly, but effective shield to protect from cylinder blast. Light weight and fun to shoot. My father-in-law has one that i load hog thumpers for.

Vic - I'e never shot one of them - one of the LGS had one on their rack that I looked at one time - it stayed on their rack for a long time before it went out the door.

Ubeti also makes a similar animal - basically a long barrel Cattleman with a stock - and then there is always the option of one of the Remington 2858 NMA carbines (cap ad ball) with a Howell conversion cylinder to 45 Colt.

The Judge is not a good shooter I had a 45 lever gun that cut one ragged hole at 25 yards and shot not under 4 inches at a hundred the Judge is good for 3 or 4 at 30 yards. The Uberti revolving carbines are better shooters but are spitters and you want eye protection and keep the hand back of the cylinder. Not real popular now or then. The original Remingtons finally sold for as low as $4 and they couldn't get rid of them. John Ruth (The Hateful 8) was no gunny.
