    Need some advice on K98 1939 243

Have a local guy who is interested in trading me his K98 rifle for a pistol I have. Wondering if this rifle is worth what he says. These are the only photos I have. He says the nazi stamps have been scrubbed due to being a captured rifle. I have some questions regarding what parts are matched serial wise so waiting for him to respond. I noticed the bolt looks to have some polished pieces so that throws me off a touch. I do not own any military rifles so looking for advice on what this is roughly worth. My pistol is in the $650-$700 range. Photos in link below

I do not see a 650-700 rifle there.

Edit, just check large auction site, they are listed for that price with no bids.

I’m no Mauser expert, he mentioned the 243 stamp as being one of the rarer Mauser rifles. I have seen some online stuff saying similar stuff but with the eagles being scrubbed etc had me really wonder what the rifle is really worth.

Detailed pictures needed ,for any opinion......value killers in order.......scope mount drill holes,refinish/blue/phosphate,stock sanded, mismatched numbers /parts,RC mark,......and obliterated Nazi marks...All devalue a valuable gun down to a shooter class rifle.....and then it would need a excellent bore.

Rifle looks nasty and rusty in spots, depending on the bore, I *might* go as high as $400.

Might be "kosher".as some countries removed the marks......Romania punch peend, and some times ground ,not neatly.Yugoslavia neatly ground,.a few Russian s punched or ground, mostly X d,....Israel neatly ground ,just like the *** .You re probably better of claiming its Israeli,as there is a collector demand for israeli independence stuff.

I have a 1939 Mauser K98 "243" rifle, I've had it for a few years now, but I only gave $200 for it then, mine is in better shape than that one, if I was looking for one I wouldn't go over $400 for it.
