    Question Potter Revolver Rest?

    Hello,
In Townsend Whelen's book: "Why Not Load Your Own" edition of 1957, an equipment manufacturer's directory lists one of the things made by Potter as being a machine rest for revolvers. When I learned of the Ransom rest in the 1970s I thought that was the first.

Does anyone here have familiarity with Potter's rest? A Google search did not find a reference or any pictures.

    Thank you, Brian

There used to be a machine rest built by Lee Custom Engineering (often confused for Lee Precision). It was later renamed to Mequon before going out of business.

In the old NRA Handloading manual there is an article by E.H. Harrison wherein he is using a Phelps machine rest to test 38 Special Wadcutter accuracy. I believe that it is the same one built by Potter, but designed by a man named Phelps. The rest appeared to lock the barrel of the revolver while holding the gun upside down. I'd post a photo but I'm having a problem getting a clear shot of the page. (106)

I thank you, both for the responses.
A Google search turned up a picture of the Lee Rest over at shootersforum

Thanks to Jtarm for telling of that rest.

I was not able to find a picture of the Phelps machine rest.

The internet has gotten so large, I am surprised there is anything that is still unavailable. But apparently nobody has posted a picture.
