Oh man, what an article. Is it any wonder I'd get rid of all my other guns before my .357 Revolver & Rifle?

I still have several hundred of that load made up in 38 Special cases.

His description of it being "as accurate as wadcutters" is true, at least in my 686.

I wish more of his stories were reprinted.

Skeeter was a cast boolit aficionado. His writings in Shootin times was the reason I shoot more 357mags. today than any other cal. I've used his loads to take all game from whitetail deer to big mean hogs and all with cast boolits. He didn't mind pushing the envelope with his loads either. Glad to see Shooting times brought back some of his writings brings back my early teens to adult hood memories. If you haven't read any of his stories please do he was the real deal. Wish I could have met the man.

Where? Or are you one of those evil fogeys who has kept every Rag since 1857?

With regards to gun control in this country, everyone should be asking themselves one question:
What is it that this government feels they need to do, but can't do, unless the citizens of this nation are first disarmed?
(I seriously doubt you can come up with any plausible answers that you will like...)

Yup. He was the real deal. I can't think of a current gun writer that could carry Skeeter's warbag.
Paper targets aren't your friends. They won't lie for you and they don't care if your feelings get hurt.

Good whiskey needs to be enjoy in moderation. Just saying. I still remember reading of the passing of Skeeter and thought....how in the heck did Elmer outlive Skeeter? That of course doesn’t detract from his writings. Because of Skeeter, I still have my 3rd gen. Colt SAA nickel 44 special bought in 1982 and added more!

Nothing wrong with a good Zombie thread, as long as the links work. Sorry about that. These are the real parts 1 & 2 links.
