I bought a Handi 444 last week...wood stocked
. I bought a Handi 444 this week...synthetic.
Do I have a problem??
I'll be loading some LBT 280 WFN's to try them out. Should be fun......

sounds normal to me,lol, its either guns, reloading or casting tools and components
Yes you do, u don’t have a 444 in a lever action or a BFR! Todd/3leg
I did have a Contender in 444...when I was young...about 55...15 years ago. The hills reverberated with joy at the sound of her voice...my hand wasn't as joyous.
( Chorus ) Helloooo Joe !
Hi Joe
First step is to admit you have a problem.
Check, good on that one at least.
Your in good company!
My last Handi purchase was a pair of them in .44mag. Same week.
One in wood, one in cammo composite. They both shoot.
Brother we got the same bug!
That .444 is a good one. Brass can be the hardest to find though.
Try a moderate .44mag handgun load in that for fun. 200-240 gr cast, 6.5 grains of Red Dot.
Mild recoil, mine stacks them up nicely, cheap to load and you can shoot them all day.
Hi I'm Jim, I'm a bullet caster.
QUIS CUSTODIET IPSOS CUSTODES?
You need to get a sponser. Go to a meetin'.
you are at a meeting of Cast Boolits anonymous. We all are addicted to this hobby.
Good buy Joe,
we gotta go down de buy-o.
Dey's a .444,
it's jes one more
gott'a buy-o.
To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, the trouble with many shooting experts is not that they're ignorant; its just that they know so much that isn't so.
So, I have been shocked by the accuracy of my 444 Handi. There are several blemishes and chatter marks on the bore. It doesn't seem to make an iota of difference.
My favorite load so far is a .430" 325 grs Matt's bullet over 45 grs IMR 3031. It's about 1.5 MOA and with a better shooter, would be MOA.
I'm still working up loads for the 265 grs Hornady FTX (8208 XBR looking very good) and the 240 grs XTP (H4198 but dialing in the load). I may very well use this rifle for deer this year.
hi joe!!!!!
i have the same problem too, except for the tc encores, 'tenders, h&r, rugers, and lymans.
i use a tc encore in 24" MGM barrel for the 444 marlin. i use/used 200gr rfn, 240gr wc, 250gr keith and penta hp and lfn, 255gr keith, 260gr wfn gc, 275gr ranch dog, 280gr wfn and lfn gc and finally the 300gr saeco fn gc. the 275-280gr pills WILL take a deer down. the 300gr, which i have to use on a deer, will be the same thing.
There is nothing wrong with you. If you have the money for it...GET IT.
No you don't have a problem. You have a good start.
Thank you fellers very much...good info....
I went the other way in my Encore - 25 Krag AI. WHO says I have a problem?!!
