I was mowing cockle burrs down in my wet land and nearly ran over one that size with only twin spikes. Well fed though....

We have a doe and two fawns around pretty regularly. They won't get that close, but they clearly aren't real afraid. I haven't deer hunted on this place since we bought it, only 18 acres and we like seeing them.

    That is amazing.
We don't have things like that happen here.
Closest I've come is two ducks used to land in the back yard.
    My Cat didn't like it.

I assume you mean the Tomato plants, haha. I honestly believe that only hunters can truly appreciate nature. Regards Stephen

I have about five or so that hang out in a 5 acre field next to the house. There is a doe with two fawn, and two buck that have joined them this year, sort of, she chased them off a few times. Yesterday they hung out, sparing a little and laying out. TN has added a velvet bow season this year but I told my grand daughter that these were "pets" as I give them all my bad veggies out the garden and added a salt block for them as well.

I've got single & double fawns around my place. Years of trying to grow grapes, and not a single one to show for it. I love to watch 'em even when they eat my stuff.

No garden here,no point in trying. Between the squirrels and the deer my apple tree doesn't stand a chance.

Went to my good friend's home, he has 5 acres with a 5 acre pond. We finished tinkering in his garage and in the twilight we to the back yard to toast wieners and marshmallows with the girls, he has five of them. just as it got dark we looked around and saw 11 pairs of eyes surrounding us. They were deer. 2 were bucks, the rest does and fawns. They stayed there walking around us and snorting now and then and didn't leave until late when we cleaned up and we went to house. My good friend says this is regular as the herd prances back and forth through his yard almost nightly. It made a very nice memory.
