Single Seven 327 bore diameter

I've been eyeing a single seven and was wondering what the bore diameter is on these revolvers. I suspect .312 but haven't seen anything concrete. I'd like to have some compatibility with my .312 32-20 bullets if possible. So, what diameter bullets are people having success with?

I have 9 revolvers and a Henry carbine. They all eat a steady diet of .314 boolits. The bores I've slugged have been. 312-.313. Happy hunting!

The throats in my s7 come in at .314 measured with a pin gauge. The throats on my S6 .32HRM are .315.

Some of them have .313 throats and some smaller. You have to measure each one. It is my understanding that as the reamers wear, the holes get smaller. Ruger does not change them as often as they should.

One guy claims to run .311" in a number of his own guns with success. For mine, .312" would be right on the edge. I've tried .313", and it seems to work just fine. I'd bet it would work in 99% of the 32 cal handguns out there. .314" is what I use, and is the best choice for every gun I own.

Bore diameter. Groove diameter. Know what the difference between the two is, and ask for what you want, not what you mistakenly inquire for.

I use .313 in several old and not so old Colts and S&W in 32 Police/S&W Long, H&R in 32 Long and Magnum, Charter Arms in 327 F.M., Taurus in 327 F.M. 3 Rugers in 327 F.M........ .313 just works; plain base and gas checked.

.313 works so well for me that I have never felt the need to wander. YMMV, but I doubt it.

Obviously, for my Single Seven and your Single Six, the cylinders were reamed with new, oversized reamers. I'm trying .314 boolits and hope the brass doesn't size down the boolit when seated and crimped.

My Single Seven slugged .3138.
It shoots the RCBS 98gr swc very well sized at .314

You tried. I have a 327 Single Seven but have not slugged the barrel. Did read somewhere else that .312 is the number. I use MBC #18 HyTek at .313 and they pass the throats with a slight pressure. I have rested the gun and fired several groups that have all holes touching with no fliers. So I would say that the.313 bullet and .312 bore is a good match.

Not a Single-Seven........fairly new SP-101 x 4.2" has .313" throats and grooves are a fat .312", maybe .3125. Bullets sized at .313" shoot wonderfully and give zero leading. RCBS #32-98-SWC at 950 FPS is a "sweet spot" load, just like it is in 32 H&R Magnum.
