Inline Fabrication for me

Before all of the commercial solutions were available I had some steel plates cut. They’re 6”x12”x1/2” thick. I drilled an identical mounting hole pattern in all of them. Brass threaded inserts for 1/4”x 20 bolts were set into the bench for 3 plates to be mounted with working space between them. That allows me to put any reloading tool in any position depending on what I’m doing. The steel is overkill for trimmers and powder measures so I ended up replacing those with 1/2” aircraft ply, either 6x6 or 6x12 depending on the tool to be mounted. They’re bolted down with socket head screws for easy changes.

I put threaded inserts & bolts into the board to secure press.

I then installed a long C-clamp, Harbor Freight, that reaches behind the press to clamp to bench.

I can hang the press on a coat hook using the thumb hole in the board.

I Like having a usable bench top without a mount on it.
