    WTB rear sight for Hawken

Before I purchased a new one online I thought I would check to see if someone had a long hawken sight with 3/8 dovetail setting around the old bench or tool box. Story below if interested.

I found the ever elusive 58 cal T/C drop in barrel, new at Dixie Gun Works in the scratch and dent aisle. While it is new, it is missing the sights and nipple. This particular barrel, unlike original T/C barrels has dovetails in the front and rear position. I believe with some minor fitting a T/C sight will fit the front dovetail. The rear dovetail cut measures .282 at the top .325 at the bottom and is .070 deep.

That doesn't sound like a 3/8 dovetail, bottom should be closer to.375. May be a metric dovetail.

Yea, I would rather it be a little big than too small. I have a triangle sight file (one side smooth two sides cut). I'm optimistic I can make a 3/8 fit so long as there is enough depth.

Thanks to Rich/WIS, I now have a Sight. Gotta love the members of this Forum!!!
