In Maine one can carry in a restaurant even if the serve alcohol but not in a bar.
Sometimes it takes a second box of boolits to clear my head.

Lot of states don't allow CC where alcohol is served or alcohol is over a certain percentage of the business. So the Holiday Inn dining room that sells alcohol might be ok because food or food and lodging is over 50% of business but the tavern down the street that sells booze and snack type bar food would be verboten.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.
Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

I would think owners would welcome open carry, or CCW in a place of business.
Those looking for trouble will not want to go in.
I've never heard of some stupid walking into a cop station looking for trouble.
A no guns sign is telling stupids it's safe to go in.
Gun Free zones are just an open invitation for people looking for trouble.
I would rather eat at a gas station than a BWW. My local one is completely awful on every level; Food, service, atmosphere, price, seating, etc.

In Texas if the premises derives 51% sales or more from alcohol sales then you cant carry.

My state changed that law. You can carry in the bar as long as you are NOT consuming alcohol. Now I am the designated driver and marksman.

DALLAS — A gunman attacked Police Headquarters at the edge of downtown here from inside an armored van early Saturday, shooting at officers and leaving bags filled with pipe bombs around the building in a brazen assault that led to an hourslong standoff. Hours after negotiators who had tried to persuade him to surrender lost contact, the suspect was found dead in the van after being shot by a police sniper, the police said.
No officers or bystanders were killed or injured in the attack, which began outside the headquarters and spread to the parking lot of a restaurant in a suburb of Dallas.
After the suspect fled from Police Headquarters, officers pursued him and cornered him at the parking lot, where police snipers fired at the vehicle with .50-caliber rifles and disabled it. Negotiations went on until around 5 a.m., when a police sniper shot the suspect through the van’s windshield.
The police did not say whether the sniper fire caused the man’s death. His body was sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiners Office for an official determination.
