    Just checking the process

My questions pertains to the Alloy#9 Hardball made with Superhard and SOWW.

    http://www.lasc.us/SuperHard.htm

    15 lbs of SOWW plus
    3.45 lbs of SuperHard plus
    5.5 ounces of Tin

So my two questions are 3.45 lbs equals 55.2 ounces? And I need to add 5.5 ounces of Tin aside of what theorically resides in the SOWW?

    Thank you

First, yes ..... 3.45lb's is 55.2oz. Secondly, looking at the lasc website, their formula for Alloy #9 is just how you list it so I checked it against the Alloy calculator (available in one of the "Sticky's" of this forum). With that formula, the calculator shows 92.5%Pb, 5.51%Sb, and 2.01%Sn so pretty close to the #9 stated 92/6/2 mix. Point of interest - the calculator estimates alloy hardness of 14.3bhn, not 12 as does the lasc site.
Anyway, looks like a good rifle alloy....good luck.

Appreciate the assistance Sir. Forgot about the calc. Excellent point. I wasn't sure about the tin since it was kinda listed different. Thanks for helping me keep the math straight. Thanks for your Service. Be All You Can Be.

Check it by plugging the numbers into this
    http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=105952

SOWW (Stick On Wheel Weight) doesn't contain any appreciable amount of tin, it is really close to pure lead.

You are confusing it with COWW (Clip On Wheel Weight) the does contain both tin and antimony
