Complete trap door buttplate.
Been told it is for Canadian Enfield.

So new information, this may not be for lee enfield.
It has been pointed out that this buttplate does not have the return on top where it goes over the top of the stock.
Will post more pictures but for now I cannot say what it is.

Anybody know the rules for exporting something like this buttplate to Australia?

No problems this end - we only need a B709 import form for actions & trigger group parts etc.
My 1942 made Savage #4 Mk1 had an aluminum butt plate like this one.Robert

My 1942 Savage has had it's butt plate replaced with a brass one at some stage,..... I'd just like to make it original again

As I look at those plates someone may ahe machined mine at the bottom screw.
See picture where it is shinny.
