I would like to give it a whirl also.

OK, the box arrived! Very well packaged and zero damage! I will sit on it for about a week, I do all my reloading and casting about 75 miles way and want to test the Lyman 55 for a specific need. If it passes, I will keep it otherwise it will move on with the box. I am also going to make a small number of the WC bullets and try them as well. I have never used a WC, either hard cast or swaged, and I am curious how well they will shoot in an old S&W 38. Can't believe I have never tried one after 40 years of shooting. I just never saw the point of a slow log, from a slow round. But, age has increased wisdom and they look like they would cut a target very well.

Anyway, I will post when the box is ready to ship and take the first person to respond after that post and pass it along! First public post will win and please follow it up with a PM that contains your contact information.

This is a great idea and it was seeded with really nice stuff, so please let's honor the original intent and keep it alive and well stocked!

    Thanks Matt

    Hi Matt,

I prefer wadcutters soft, range scrap plus a tad of tin, and loaded to about 800 fps.

    Take care, Tom

Tom, I assume cast, lube and size as normal? I really have never shot a full wad cutter or loaded one.

On a side note, this weekend is gonna be crazy. High school friend reunion, always small but peeps coming in from the east coast and mid-west. Saturday is the day of our largest regional gun show, the Indy 1500. I have not been in a couple of years, no cash no reason. But this time I am going and it is about a 2 hour drive each way. Then I have my folks 8 acres to mow... then I get to play with loads and guns.

    Hi Moderators.....

Just a thought about this...to keep it on track easier and monitor where "The Box" is and what it contains..wouldn't it be prudent to create a subforum and have each person that has received and is ready to ship out the box then create a NEW post. This post would list the current contents and instructions for the next "I could use that box" post. This way old shipment threads could be locked and it would make it easier to keep track of it.

    Other thoughts/ideas welcome.

[EDIT] - a sticky with the instructions/rules could be added to the subforum also.

NOTE as posted by the OP.

    (basically)

There is no "line"/signup sheet waiting for the box because no-one will know what will be in the box until the receiver is finished with it.
When the receiver of the box is done with it, he will replace what he needed/removed from the box with items of like value then post the contents of the box.
At that time the box will be asked for by another member and continue on its journey bringing joy and goodwill to all that receive it.

Exactly...but it could be added to this thread...and so on ...and so on...it may get lost in the confusion of discussion that seems to go on with our thread (like what I'm doing now.

I'm just saying...start a new thread with each new receiver.

No additional forums will be created. I suggest tracking this on one thread as as keeping up with seperate threads (knowing which thread the box is on) would be almost impossible. Those who are interested will follow the thread and see the box amid the conversation when it is offered back on the thread offered for shipment. Those who don't follow the thread won't. It almost seems the perfect way to keep just the passer by from happening upon the thread at the perfect second to snatch the box away forever.

Just want to let everyone know that I received the box yesterday in great shape. Currently testing a few of the molds before figuring out what I'd like to keep and then I'll re-post an updated inventory for the next lucky recipient. Should be towards the end of this coming week or first thing the following week.
