Woooo Whoooo! First BLT of the year!

A friend of mine brought me a very large yellow tomato from his garden. I got up this morning and drove to a small family owned butcher shop and bought 2 pounds of their "house" bacon. Daughter drove the other direction and got me a loaf of white bread and a fresh head of lettuce. This evening had two Dagwood style BLTs for dinner, with mayo of course, and i am very happy. A pint of my own British style ale around dark and it will conclude a great day.

Every once in awhile I get the hankering for a BLT. Large loaf of Italian bread. Big tomato, and half pound of bacon. Only use one half of the Italian bread. Slobber on some real mayo, lettuce, bacon and tomato with a large glass of iced tea no sugar or lemon. Yum yum. Frank

    Entirely too much lettuce.
    More bacon less lettuce.
We just had BLTs with fresh tomatoes from the garden .
    Yummy....dale

I just finished eating one. I have 4 tomatoes left on the counter. That is the end of this years crop, next years is a long way off.

I've got a dozen or so fat tomatoes out there just about to start to ripen. I can't wait for my annual BLT fest.....

    Your First BLT !!!!!
Sadly my tomato's , like farmerjim's, are all over and done. Only two tomatoes remain in the ice box. I did can (jar) and freeze plenty to use in cooking during the winter but no more BLT's .
Kind of sad....but I ate so many BLT's this year that I should be able to make it until next season.

Haven't had a BLT in a long time.
Might have to make some tomorrow.
Doctor said to stay away from white bread, so i wonder how it will taste on wheat bread.

My first beefsteak tomato is pinking up nice. This afternoon or tomorrow.........

I doubt it will survive long enough to make it into an actual sammich.

BLT with toasted sourdough is good stuff too!

Sap beetles are doing a number on my tomatoes... only one variety they barely touch...
