The second, (good one) a friend scored cheap before me, and never fired. Took over a decade for me to end up with that one.

I have one of each N frame P&Rs that came in 83/8. The 27-2 & 25-5 shoot like rifles. The first
time I shot Silos with the 27-2, I scored 28. I only missed 7 , the others didn't fall off the post
so they didn't count. Not bad for first effort. I like the 83/8, I can shoot them well, I carry them
in Bianchi cross draw which is most comfortable for me, skinny at 6'. I found I could shoot 6'-61/2'
just as well and have shifted to them years ago.

S&W 27s are really nice revolvers. Older i get the more I like the shorter lighter versions. I have a 5" 27-2 that's about perfect but I shoot better with a 28-2 that's in 4". Also have a 27-7 8-shot (no lock) that I got a year or so back. It is in as new condition and I just haven't been able to get myself to shoot it. Have enough other N frame Smiths for range guns I guess. The 8 shooter is a bit lighter than the old 6 shooters.
