Swede with .268 bore, what j-words do you use

Wanna try j-words, say multiple options on grafs, 1 hornady (160rn) and 2 prvi, (123gr, 139gr BT). Has anyone had good experiences with these in a swede with .268 bore?

    .268 bore is not possible.
Are you talking a 6.5x55 M-96 Swedish Mauser?
Bore diameter is nominaly 6,50mm = .256" worn out are about +6,55mm = .258" checked with pin gauges.
Groove diameter is Nominaly 6,70mm = .264" hard to check, you have to slug your barrel.
Worn barrels will more likely shoot better with heavy long bore riding bullets like 160 Hornady RN, or Surplus m/41 Ammo cladsteel jackets.

Groove diameter of most Swede barrels in good to excellent condition 6.5x55s run .266 +/-. At ;east all I've measured do.

I've found FB jacked bullet of .264 diameter to give better accuracy than BT'd jacketed bullets of the same diameter. I use the Sierra 100 gr HPs and 120 gr SPs. The Hornady 129 SP and the Hornady 140 gr SPs with excellent results. I've no experience with the bullets you list in the Swede.

I have shot the .268 Hornady 160 gr bullets in a 6.5 Jap that has a .268 groove diameter with excellent results.

my excellent condition M96 Swede (with micro rear site) barrel had Groove dia of .267
Using a Lyman 266469 that dropped a boolit at .2685
I tumble lubed them and sized them with a .268 push through die

Yes, m96 with groove dia of .267-.268 when slugged.
Since barrel is a bit worn and frosty, im trying to find best j-words to shoot in it.

You will have to try what holds a group. Some privi j-thingys are .263 so they are lacking. I use the privi 139gr sp in my old rifle, with a dark bore and out of spec headspace with great results.
I would try a heavy and a light j-thingy with a flat base and see how it groups.

Hornady used to sell .268 round nose bullets for the 6.5 Carcano. I had several hundred and sold them here on this site.

In my 96 and 38 Sierra 140 Gamekings and Matchkings always performed well. I even shot my 96 in 1000 yard competitions using the SMKs before I built a 6.5-06 match rifle.
63/37 Sn/Pb is a terrible boolit alloy but its other use pays the bills.
