I have a chance to buy one of these but I don't know anything about them. Is there a market for them? Do they work? It looks new. What kind of value do they have?
Thanks in advance
Doug

Should work just like the regular one. It just has a brass hopper, if I remember correctly.

I've got one. Haven't used it much yet but is pretty nearly identical to my old Lyman 55.
Comes with a larger aluminum hopper with a baffle and a drop tube. The fine adjustment is almost too fine for black powder but better too much than not enough. I just don't use the smallest slide bar much.
I've got 6 if that tells you anything,,,,,,,.
Try to stay under $50 if you can, $25-$40, sans rust is a pretty good buy. Really pristine with the box I might go as high as $75.
Edit: I just caught that this is for the BP model. My comments above are for the standard measure.
Is it just the measure, or are there drops with it?

The only difference between the black powder 55 and the standard 55 is the aluminum reservoir and the method of attachment to the measure. The black powder measure has threads that are the same as the original 55 measure. The current standard 55 has a snap in method of attachment. If you need to replace a reservoir on an original 55 all you need is the reservoir for a black powder measure.
Good measure .work well and stay consistent once set.
I have one Lyman 55 BP measure, Aluminum hopper and drop tube. I converted mine from a standard lyman 55 powder measure with Lyman parts. Mine has the 3 slide drum and the above poster is right the smallest slide on top takes a lot of move to adjust a little bit. I set close with main slide then fine tune with second slide then if only a few tenths are needed the third slide. I need to cut my slides graduations deeper and re ink them as they are hard to see. A good measure that's works well. I am considering a new slide for this measure in the style of the Culiver conversions from years ago with the clicks. I also considered the powder bottles for a hopper conversion. One thing that works pretty good for a drop funnel is a wsm case with the head cut off. the body with a little expansion fits the measure good and the shoulder neck do good getting powder packed into a case I used a 270 wsm for my drop. Used one with a 12" piece of brass tubing pressed in to make the drop tube. I have only ran Black powder thru this one but think it would do okay with smokeless also.
I also have 2 Belding and Mulls I like a lot for black powder I find them easier to set and with extra tubes, a tube can be left set for a given charge. Measure tubes are easy to make from hobby store and or hardware store materials. Drawback is these are 2 hand measures one to hold the tube in place one to operate the measure. My one was bought with out hopper measure tube or glass window and was in rough shape. I considered back to original but then made it more "modern". I made a adapter up to mount both the current Olde Ensforde bottles and the Swiss bottles instead of a hopper this has baffle in it also. I replaced the glass window with a piece cut to size ( took me several tries to get one that didn't chip or crack) and made 4 thread adjustable measure tubes for it. For these I used 3/8 32 NEF threads for a nice fine adjustment. end of rods have a concave surface 7/16" to match the Id of the tubing I used,
