It would be less disrespectful to burn the flag than to put a thin blue line through the middle of it.

They're no longer made, but occasionally come up for sale on the auction sites, usually for way too much money. I've got one, and I guess it works reasonably well, but I prefer to cast my cores, when possible.

    Hope this helps.

Saw one on Ebay. It said "vintage" so I thought I'd ask.

A core cutter, especially for smaller diameter wire, is easy enough to make. A couple of pieces of angle-iron bolted together like scissors works great. I made my first cc using an old pair of dog nail shears with a hole drilled & a bolt with 2 nuts & a washer installed to make a stop.

my first one was a pair cable cutters, with fender washers. bolts and a wing nut, described in the archives in this forum. totally functional, however a little less than accurate and slightly cumbersome.

Well I would think a clean shear and gauge that is repeatable would be of most importance.

Herter's made two very different models, depending on the model they are good. The better is a micrometer adjustment and uses separate dies for different sizes of wire.
    Finding dies in near impossible.
The cheaper one is more like the other poster's described.
