Tin isn't toxic for non acidic foods.
Usually if it doesn’t say pewter on, it’s not.
Pewter melts at 450 degrees. Put it in a melting pot and put it in your oven a 455 degrees and see what happens. If it melts a good chance it is. If all your doing is adding it in at a 2% ratio to help fill out your molds your good to go if it melts at the low temp. I don't think any other metal melts as low of a temp as pewter/tin.
It's probably not but worth a try. If it says toxic I would think it could be pewter with a little lead in the mix. Lead is toxic.
I bought a plate the other day that I thought that was. I gave it some love with my propaign torch for a few seconds and it wasn't going to melt. I'm sure it was aluminum or an similar 10 alloy mix to RWP.
