Cool Making our own .50 BMG gas checks now.

We borrowed a NOE 850gr .514 bullet mold from rockrat and were able to test some new gas checks we made last night. The first try came out about .104 tall and .517 in diameter. Bought some NOE sizing bushings for their push through die set up. The bullets are 50/50 clip on wheel weights and linotype. The bullet came out to 838 grains sized to .512 and ready to go.

Here is a cell phone pic of my first finished bullet:

Any opinions on the gas check height? These .104's seem to work fine in the shop, but we are new to the caliber. Just need a .50 cal rifle now. I bet the neighbors would love the sound of one on our home range.

A stationary suppressor might be in order (Iron wire some used tires together so they form a chamber you can fire through that'll quiet the mighty BOOMs somewhat.)

Wow what a chunk of lead. Let me guess to fill that cavity you just dunk the mold in the lead and wait a min then pull it out to cut the spru? Jkjk, you fill the ladle w lead then let the lead cool then run that up into a sizer? Joking again.
