Original 1873 Win and Matching the finish on New Magazine Tube

A few years ago I purchased an 1873 in 32-20 and promptly took it completly apart and just today put her back together. Someone had beaten the Magazine Tube Ring out and it no longer fit securely. I ordered a new one from Homestead along with a replacement Magazine Tube which was similarly molested beyond repair. Obviously from the pictures the new tube and ring are blued and do not match the barrel. I had considered a complete rust blue refinish of the rifle but prefer to keep as close to original as possible. Suggestions on a finish method for tube and ring to match the barrel?

Thanks for any and suggestions/tips etc.

You need to leave that tube in my basement for a week.

Use blue remover on it and the hanger, then use Birchwood Casey Plum Brown. One aplication will match your barrel's patina closely.

I have one in the same condition. Plan to use Naval Jelly to remove blue and plum brown to make it match the barrel.

Was beaten to the punch twice; plum brown was my nearest guess
