    Portuguese-Vergueiro Mauser Sporter

    I’ve been working on this Portuguese-Vergueiro Mauser for some time now. I had the barrel replaced with a 7x57 and a new bolt handle added. It sports NECG sights and is has a cerakote finish. The attached picture shows it in the original military stock that I modified because it’s taking me quite a long time to finish up the Euro-style stock that it will eventually have.

    That rifle will hunt. A deer will never know whether it was a high dollar Blazer or your mauser. Looks good to me. james

    I've found that actions with the bolt handle in front of the bridge are faster to manipulate for the first round when bringing the rifle up from waist level to the shoulder. Slower when cycling the action while shouldered.
