I was given a box of ammunition and was told that it was supposed to be Carcano.
Looking in Hornady 9th edition ruled that out.
Without posting a picture, I will try to describe this.
1: it is military
2: rimmed case rim is kind of rounded like a 7.62 x 54r rim diam .528
3: 6.5 mm or .263 dia. projectile
4: dia under head .452
5: dia at shoulder .424
6: length at shoulder 1.640 approximately
7: brass length 2.125
8: neck length .340 Approximately
9: headstamp is military and is marked in four places 1:43 2: am 3: s with what appears to be a cross behind the s 4:15
10: bullet is round nose and is extremely long for caliber: it sticks out of the case about .940. I did not weigh the bullet as I don't want to disassemble at this time.
11: primer is crimped, but don't see signs of sealer
some are packed in tan colored (natural colored) cardboard boxes with 30 rounds per box. No markings on box.
May try to post picture later
