    Question Saeco molds

Where can I find pics or drawings of Saeco molds? I'm interested in their # 352 35 cal 245 gr FP for my 35 Rem rifles. Seems about the ideal weight for them. Anyone using one of these? What diameter do the drop in WW? Who sells Saeco besides Graf & Son? Will LYman, RCBS, handles work on their blocks? Any other info would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Denver

Midway sells Saeco molds ,they might have a pic on their site. Redding is who makes Saeco now so I would check their site also. Good luck Nick

go to www.redding-reloading.com and click around. You will find a chart of all the current SAECO bullet designs.

Thanks, I found it. Looks like a stretched version of the RCBS 200gr FP with maybe a bore riding section in front of the first band. Trouble is, they say their molds drop the nominal size using Taracorp metal, and wheel weight metal will be smaller diameter. Not what I wanted to hear.

Denver, I have not noticed that my Saeco .270 mould drops undersized with WW or Linotype.

taracorp magnum is 92% lead 2% tin and 6% antimony not to far from WWs

taracorp magnum is 92% lead 2% tin and 6% antimony which is quite far from WWs, which is a valid linotype cut with lead for a 50-50 mix. About twice the strength of current day's WW. Cut this taracorp by 50 percent and then you will get very close to today's WW. ... felix

the saeco site says WW will be .3% smaller or 1/3 of 1% in diameter than Taracorp magnum. 3% seems way to big of a differance but then i seen the .3% twice that is .001 inch smaller with a .358 boolit.

For what it's worth, I have a Saeco RG-4 as well as a Saeco #315 (3 cav.). The RG-4 casts .308" on the body and barely .300" on the nose with WW + 1% Sn. The #315, on the other hand, casts .311" -.312" (all cavs.) with the same alloy.

saeco 352 oal=1.09" meplate 0.200" nose to first band length=0.500" diameter in front of 1st band = 0.350" diameter 1st band = 0.3585 [well duh that's what I sized it too]. The bullet appeares to have been sized evenly. Gianni.
