MiHec 9mm SWC (HG#275 clone) - Hitek Version / Tumble Lube Testing

    Hi Cast Boolit Brothers!

A few month ago I asked the forum after the possibility to tumble lube boolits, which are created for Hitek / powder coating (without lube grooves), because tumble lube was my way to go lubing process since a few years. Cheap and easy.
I asked Miha and he makes me an offer, that I couldn't refuse: He sent me the mold for free, if I test it out and do a report about my experiences to the Forum. It was the 6cav brass mold of the HG#275 clone in the Hitek Version. A very nice piece of art and a pleasure to cast with.

So I casted a bunch of boolits, tumble lubed them, sized down to .356 and loaded them for 9mm with Lovex D032 (Accurate No.2) to test it in my S&W 5906 (5") and a CZ 75 Sport II (6").

The result wasn't that good, there was leading after only 20 shots and the precision was not as expected. So I was forced to handle the boolits with the right purpose: powder coating. I bought the powder and a little Pizza oven for my workshop and powder coated the bullets.

I was impressed, how easy it was to handle and I asked myself, why I never have tried this before? Well, I think there was not the rigth mold in my collection, until now!

So I loaded and tested a bit and ...et voila, the precision was there (25m, off hand).

I'm very thankful that Miha gave me the chance to test it and to see how it works - with try and error.

So big thanks @MiHec - the mold is outstanding and I love to make boolits with it, also with PC!

    Greets,
    Martin

Try to size tumble lubed to .357+
    CZ's have barrels .356 (mostly)

Ok, the CZ was not my gun, but from a friend of mine. I will try .357 also in my 5906. Results will follow.

Most important thing is that you check your pulled bullet diameter.
I see a lot of problems (mostly in 9mm), because people crimp to much.
For example you can go with .358 cal bullet and when it is crimped you have .354 cal bullet.

Be aware of different types of cases - for example PPU is 0,26 mm thick and S&B is 0,30 mm thick.

If you set up press on PPU and than use S&B cases you have problem.....

    My personal data:

I have Tanfoglio Limited Custom. Barrel is .355 diam. I size bullets on .3572. When I measure pulled bullet it is .3565 diam.
This gives me no leading and dead accurate ammo.
