3 roll crimp tools: Wich model is best?

Found some cheap roll crimp tools on eBay and start to think Wich one would be a better choice.

It seems that all of them are made in Russia.

Does anyone here have experience with this KIND of tools?

I mean, not the product itself, but the way it functions (drill bit, manual and reloading bench)

Would anyone please comment Wich one would make a better service?

I am no marksman.
Just looking for a cheap solution for weekend shootings.

Since I live outside USA, I will have to import it anyway.

The one that fits on a drill. The heat of it spinning on the plastic helps form the roll better.

I have the one that fits in a drill for 12, 20, and 410. they work just fine but aren't the Russian ones. I bought mine from B.P.I. Slugs R Us has one that is high strength plastic of some sort and I've heard they work well. On a whim I bought the hand crank Russian one in 12ga. (Bottom pic) It makes a real nice roll crimp but is a little wobbly. Gp

IF I take the drill one, would I need some kind of vise?

I am asking because the drill bit seems nice but I want to keep things simple.. and keep less tools on my bench.

I have the 2nd version, except mine is probably 100yrs old. I got it from my DAD, who got it from his DAD. I only use it on my stash of FEDERAL Paper hulls. And only on old style LYMAN Slugs. Works great, slow as heck. But a perfect crimp every time.

It's easier with something to hold the shell other than your hand but it can be done that way. B.B. uses channel locks, I made a clamping device and the vices from BPI aren't very big but do cost a bit. Gp

I got the crimper that Slug's R Us sells. It is for a drill and makes great crimps. It is $15.50 not a bad price. I have used it with a drill press and a battery drill. I made a simple wooden clamp, but have also crimped just using my hand to hold the shell.

I have one setup in a drill press
I have one setup in Ideal bench top Star crimper (powered by a hand drill - was origanlly designed to be used with a hand wheel)

Yes they do work nice.

My "drill press" crimper is from Precision Reloading. I heard they were better. Do know that they work well in 16ga and 410.

They all work, but there is a clear relation that the more pins or rollers they have, the better. I've got the BPI double pin roll crimper, and it works much better than the single pin. I've also got one of those antique hand roll crimpers for paper hulls, with 4 pins. I don't use it much, but it works easier than anything.

I just bought the Russian hand crank one in 16 ga. Have not used it yet, but it does look like a quality piece of gear. I also have antique 12 ga and 20 ga ones. The 16 ga is going to be used first. Just have a few more things to do since I just moved. LOL...
