Adjustable stand for Lee Microscope for Brinell hardness testing

I have tried all the published methods for testing my lead alloy for Brinell hardness. Like many others I was frustrated using the Lee 20 power optical Microscope to measure the indent diameters on ingots and bullets. I searched in vain for a used toy microscope to adapt to hold the Lee scope steady and in focus. Then I found a holder that was a perfect fit right out of the package. It is the holder for the Opti Scope USB microscope that is exactly the same diameter as the Lee Microscope (5/16"). I contacted Matt at optitekscope@gmail.com and he indicated that he could sell these bare stands to folks for $19.95 including shipping. I thought I would share this with folks here who own the Lee Lead Hardness Testing Kit since it makes it very easy to use.Click image for larger version.

Awesome stand! I seen it on ebay before. I use cheap plastic cone.

I just emailed them. For $20 I won't have something cobbled up and will look professional. Thanks for the tip. I'm sick of wiggling around trying to see the marks and then it moves on me.

I check ingots so the stand would be just the ticket.

+1 on this for an "Adjustable Stand" (Post #5). Mine has a plastic cap (Not metal like yours appears to be), so a drilled hole just below diameter of the Lee optics gives an ability to move it up or down for focus; yet it stays in place with the friction of the cap.

I just received a confirmation email. They will send a paypal invoice for it when whoever is selling these gets back into the office.

No, it's plastic. A Gatorade bottle as the plastic was a bit heavier. Thanks for filling in the production details. I do really like the OP's stand but I don't have space for all the really cool stuff I have now. LOL

Just paid for mine. It's worth $19.97 all day long vs cobbling something for free that I can't adjust up n down to be perfectly still and focused in a fraction of a second. This way I can check ignots as well.

    Thanks for the great tip.

Got mine the other day. Good build quality. My scope is a hair smaller in diameter than when the adjustment screw is fully turned in. It rests on the pocket clip holder. I'll put a little tape around the barrel so it snugs against it or a little expo you on the end of the screw for some build up.
