Remington rolling block in 43 Spanish
Very good bore, some light pitting but very strong lands. Bright bore.
Good action, tight. Full military springs, very strong and heavey trigger pull.
Not much if any finish left on it.
Good buttstock with normal wear, unfortunately the front stock has been cut to sporter style, and could use a rehab to look correct? Still have the original cleaning rod.
Fitted with an early pedersoli long range tang sight, very good base, half tempted to keep the sight and base. Uses buttstock screw for one mount, the other is drilled into the tang.
Front sight is mounted to a modern style ramp, probably silver soldered? on.
Old lyman globe sight with a wide post. No other inserts included.
Mounting looks dead on however there is some rust around the outline of the base.
I have shot this rifle about 4-6 years ago, maybe 10 rounds at about 300 yards at a cardboard box that was about 3ft square, it shoots as good as you can hold it and I was hitting the box. Thats about all I can tell you accuracy wise.
It's been sitting in a closet since.
$575 plus shipping with sights (pre-1898)
$450+ shipping without sights
A local deal (Denver CO) would be great, hate shipping anything this big!
Also open to trades, mainly lever guns or something interesting, throwing that out there!
