    Remington 1911 SL shotgun

This might belong in another forum...

I'm looking at a Remington 1911SL shotgun (12 ga). Not the Model 11, but the "Widow Maker."
I have two Model 11s that have a fiber buffer inside the receiver. From what I understand, the 1911 SL Widow Maker has a fiber barrel ring but I can't find any schematics to show where it is, or any info on what they are. Any info?

I have had a lot of Rem 11s and have worked on a lot of them. I have canbalbilized many of them
to make shootable guns and I have no idea what you are talking about. Are you sure you are not
confused and are talking about a 1911 Win? That's the gun that is normally nicknamed the Widow
Maker. The Rem 11 is a lincensed copy of the Browning A5 with minor changes.

The "widow maker" is the Winchester Model 11.

That would explain why I cant find info on it - it's a Winchester 1911SL, not a Remington 11.
Like I said, I have two Remington 11s, and they have the fiber cushion in the rear of the receiver, but the Winchester 1911 SL has a fiber barrel buffer. Numrich does list them but they're out of stock. I was wondering if these buffers can be made of, say rubber.
    Thanks for the correction.

When I read the title of this thread, I thought it would be a smoothbore 1911 with a really long barrel to avoid AOW classification a'la Tac-14/Shockwave.

I should have posted it somewhere else, not under Factory RIFLES. Ooops.
