Well - these have worked for me. Any good cast bullet of 160 - 180 grains, gas checked, over 19 grains of H 4198, for about 1600 fps in my short trapper barrel; or 16.5 grains of IMR 4227 for 1450 fps. (Ditto for 11 grains of Alliant Steel).

I didn't take a picture, but yesterday at the SO range I shot twelve shots into a small hole @25 yards from an improvised rest with a load of 5 gr. Bullseye, a LR magnum primer, a Lee 160 gr.gc bullet sized to .309 and lubed with two different coats of plain JPW. I think I'm going to make some more and try them at 50 yards next time. My mold is the first one I bought for a smokeless powder rifle, an old single cavity Lee. It's no longer available in single cavity, but I did see it on the website as a DC.

Did I ever mention that I hate to trim brass?

Size deer rifle with no recoil and noise but at the woods and swamp ranges common here in Northern MI I think a well placed shot would still put venison on the table even on our large corn fed deer.
Yes, it probably would. How likely is to see black bear there, though?

There is no 'right' that requires me to work for you or you to work for me!
