    Ballistic Products Valu-Slug

So BPI sent me a couple varieties of slugs to test and video for my YouTube channel. The three types of slugs appear to be Federal Truball, Federal Hydroshok rifled slugs, and Trophy Copper sabots.

My plan is to use a couple slow burning powders for the foster slugs: 800X, Blue Dot, Steel, 4657.

For the sabot: Longshot, Herco, maybe Unique and Green Dot.

It’s interesting to see the aluminum disk inserted in the bottom of the sabot.

For the Truball, I have some of those BPI has seals with the hole in the middle that will align the nylon ball center in the slug. I’ll stack hard fiber wads to simulate the hard launch that the factory slug wad does.

    We’ll see what happens.

I had first found these slugs literally 2 hours ago. As soon as I get home, I'll be buying some of those trophy coppers. I've got to 2000 fps with their LBC slug and Longshot, you should be able to match that with these. Did you ask them where the wads for the truballs went?

Those TruBalls look just like the the ones in made last week, I just need to get a ~ .5" ball to fit the cavity.

You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who they think can do nothing for them.

IIRC After swagging the shape, these weigh just over 7/8 oz how much addition weight does the nylon ball add?

I just sent them an email for pricing on 3k balls. Here’s the link for the plastic balls (actually it’s nylon.). Check out the specs:

I was just browsing through Walmart and noticed they sell 1/2" slingshot ammo, glass to be specific. I don't know how it would hold up, but a pack was $4.

    BT,

What is the diameter and length of the trophy copper bullet? BPI's spec sheet says 50 cal by 1.1" but it also says the slug weighs 438g not 305g.
