🍵 drying out the powder in the bowl

rather humid along the Texas Gulf Coast and I do a lot of PC during this high humidity

when I finish I take PC bowl inside and set it out (open) in a safe place. Idea is to have the a/c remove the 'dampness' in the powder.

Now I don't know for a fact it works but the PC is fine when I use it the next time outside

I experimented with that last fall, it works but I suggest you put a porous cover over it. Like a lite cotton cloth fastened to the container. Swirl every once in a while.
    Whatever!

I only PC in the winter months when I'm burning the wood stove. When I try and PC in the humid months, I'm always fighting to get the PC to stick. in winter, when you get shocked from static elec. is when the PC sticks like glue. sometimes I get way too much on the bullet.

Humidity will diminish tumbled PC effeciency. The summer months are the worst, even here is AZ. That is why I have 2 ESPC guns also! They work every time - - - winter, spring, summer, and fall. (All you have to do is call). Sorry, I am breaking into old songs!!!!!!!! My other hobby that I can do in the hot summers in AZ........keyboard synth music. Working on another album for late fall.

The humidity here is killer too. I keep my powders tightly sealed and only get out what I am going to use, or it does get "clumpy" pretty fast.
That's why I too, spray 95% of my boolits with my 2 ESPC guns. They work in everything but an outright rain.
'Jealous of you that can get nice coverage when tumbling. It just doesn't stick here for me when I do it that way.

I only open mine in an air conditioned room. I store it in glass jars that are vacuum sealed. I have never had any problems with smokes powder.

Since I tumble coat in my homemade tumbler I don't seem to have a problem most of the time, but when I do I simply put a tray in the oven with a little over 6 pounds of bullets, bring the temp up to about 125 degree, let them stabilize for a few minutes then dump them into the running tumbler. They start to coat immediately. Humidity doesn't get much worse than here in the Gulf Coast.

I haven't had any issues but what do you guys think about putting rice in the powder? People use it all the time to dry out cell phones and stuff that got wet. I wonder if it would work. You could even put it in a little cloth sack.

One of our old members once experimented removing moisture from black powder and BTW, he received some interesting results from the dry stuff. His method was to place powder in a .50 ammo cans with desiccant bags and recycle the bags in an oven. He was able to get humidity down to about 20% in a week's switching bags./beagle

Recently I was going to PC some bullets I had cast for my son several; months before. It was foggy and a light rain had been going for a few hours, and the PC would not stick. Baced a couple of previously tests tried using ideal yellow #77wire lube in bullet sizer, I added some to bowl of bullets and mixed well. I next washed with garden hose to remove most of the lube. Then washed in hot water and dried. At this point I had a hard time shaking off the excess PC.This is a rough way to do it but if you really need the bullets then this is a work around if you get in a tight which you can try.

Just got some of this to try. They're rechargeable in an oven. Figure a couple in the jars I store powder in and couple in the tubs I swirl in should cover it
