Walks - thanks or that explanation. I just bought some loaded cartridges in 45 Colt from a member on here - not knowing the loads, I pulled the 255 gr RNFP and dumped the powder. It was mixed head stamp brass and I noticed about three or four with the channeler on the brass as you describe - don't recall the head stamp.

I bought some commercial wadcutter cast boolits a while back for the 45 Colt to try out - I haven't gotten around to loading anything but a couple of dummy rounds in Starline brass. Seemed to seat just fine and I just roll crimped in to the top ring.

Ok, this wouldn't be the first time my memory has failed me so I'll ask you guys: Have you ever seen brass with two cannelures? I'm pretty sure I have, the second one was quite a ways down the case body (I'm thinking it was .38.357 brass). My addled brain may be playing tricks on me but I could swear I saw some years ago and just never thought anything of it.
Warning: I know Judo. If you force me to prove it I'll shoot you.

Yes. I have two or three that have a cannelure near the top and one not too far from the head. I know that they were .357 or .38 spl. brass...

Did I ever mention that I hate to trim brass?

Some Remington- Peters wad cutter brass have double cannelure but Fiocchi had the right idea.

I am guessing the double cannelure brass is made for hollow base wad cutter bullets
