    Marlin model 36 to 38-55

I am starting a build or two now, one 36 and one 336 from 30-30 to 38-55. Am planning to use Green Mountain barrels, hopefully the tapered octagon#3 contour, 14 twist barrels. Any insight offered will be cheerfully read, and possibly used. These will be the first lever action Marlins I've barreled, I've done a number of bolt and single shots and I've been putting these builds off for awhile. So, let's get started, please and thank you. Jimmy

So, still hoping for input. Getting ready to order some barrels. Looks like I may have to go with Lilja to get profile and twist I want, GM out of 14 twist, only 12 twist available. Still thinking, any ideas welcome. ?bore diameter, ?twist. come on guys.

Put some thought into your chamber reamer. Lots of choices available depending on what you want to load with and brand of brass. Floating pilot is good since bore diameter is all over with 38 Cal barrels.
