Got New Mihec Devastator Mould today

Finally got my mould from Miha today. Apparently it got held up with alot of others in Germany.

Germany felt it neceessary to open the package and search for something?

Any way I got it now, and as usual, it is beautiful. You do nice work Miha!

It is currently 98F in Ojai and supposed to be 108F tomorrow so I will be staying indoors for a few days. No boolit casting for me until it cools off probably next week sometime.

The Germans seem to be more worried about a mold and less about the refugee problem that will cost the country millions if not billions. Good thing they have the EU to fall back on. Angela Merckle is a shame to her own party. I also, received my new mold from Miha. It is an absolute masterpiece. I can't wait to start dropping boolits with it.
If it ain't broke don't fix it! I disagree with what you say, but I will defend your right to say it to the death! When people fear the government it is tyranny, when government fears the people it is Liberty!

The Germans are jealous. They think they own high end machining.

Mine shipped late, paypal snafu, but totally missed za Germans an got here last Monday.

My pins were a little stiff at first but just sliding them broke in the fresh surfaces. The alignment of the pins and holes is phenomenal.

    Thanks Miha, bluejay75

He gets pretty busy in the shop I would email him again. With the amount of emails he recieves it’s easy for a fella to forget.

Got mine yesterday. The Germans impressed upon us their usual love of adherence to protocol. "Herr Prevec is shipping 50 of the exact same item this week. He does this every two weeks. This is surely a desensitization plot so that box 900+ will in fact contain contraband. Wir mussen open every single box, Ja. And leave a grammatically correct and nicely folded letter in each one too."

What is the difference? i'll have to look at it but I think it is just a 432-640 not L

My shop is an oven today. It was 114F here in Ojai yesterday and will make that easily again today. Its 111F right now at 11AM.

Las Vegas was only 104F yesterday.

Goleta on the north end of SB is currently burning, and it was 120F there last night at 12 Midnight! it's burning all kinds of homes this time and after 18 hours they only have it 5% contained. You'll probably see it on the evening news tonight.

    Strange times we live in.

It took 3 runs to get the temp and pour right.

I wound up at 740F with 3.5/1/95.5 alloy, RCBS Pro Melt 2, mold preheated.

Randy--The MP-432-640L is a lighter weight boolit version of the original MP-432-640. Boolits from my 640L weigh about 220g, whereas boolits from my MP-432-640 weigh about 250g. Both are very good boolits for use in any .44 lever action. For handguns, I find the MP-432-256 is more accurate and cuts a nice clean hole in paper, whereas the 640's kinda tear at the paper.

Have not weighed mine yet. I started at 720 and could not get a decent bullet. I got up to 745 and they were rolling out of the mold as fast as I could. Does brass always require a higher temp?

I have on Of the original Lyman mouldes in 44. I’ve had excellent results with this design with and without GCs. I also use a pure lead cast in a sabot for in-line MZ. Gotta run the pin and mound really hot for good fill out with pure.
If you PC with ASBBs expect a few to get hung up in the HP. try a rolling motion rather than a pull when removing the stuck ASBB.

At a 108 you can just leave your pot outside unplugged and give it a little love with a magnifying glass to finish melting.lol

I don't remember running this hot, but then again it could be the memory.
