Here is a pic of my process for reducing 223rem down to 30 cal. The process is the same with the 9mm case. The process is a little slow and labor intensive but the results are perfect and repeatable. I don't do more then about .025 in reduction at a time and less towards the final draws as the base becomes a more solid piece of brass. A good deal of annealing is required to ensure best results with least amount of effort and stress to equipment or dies.
I sized these down using my improved Lee Classic Cast press.
starting 223 rem case is .375 then down to 350, 330, 316, 311 and 306. The draw from 316 to .306 can be done skipping the .311 die, customer wanted to make both 303 and 30 cal bullets.
Doing it this way is longer of course but with this set of dies you will notice the numbers.......the customer now has the ability to make any caliber he wishes from 375 to 30 cal.
More info to come, short on time at the moment.....
Good shooting and swage on!
Brian
p.s. base is square, it's just the little nip of the left over primer causing any lean to the cases. Had I deprimed the case first they would have stood straight.
