If your asking for Honest Opinion. I had one in 38 special. purchased it new. when i got it to run it ran well. . . as it Got older or i started changing thing . it became a problem. If you have all the internal parts .you can get it up and running. i would not put any money in it. Considering no parts are available. and parts are @ a premium. Again Just my opinion

Seeing that there are missing parts for the loader and the bench priming tool not to mention the rust on both tools and the uncertainty the press works I would say about $195 - $225. That aluminum spent primer catcher is a sought after item by many reloaders.Robert

Tried one. My conclusion, don't let anyone run fast enough to give you one of those beasts. As for the primer catcher, I have aluminum and plastic and neither one catch more than fifty percent of the primers.

As a parts machine for someone that has one running fine .. to buy to fix up and get running NO way .. no new parts are available
so its down to buying 2 or 3 to get 1 running. my advice stay away and be happy you did so

Only if you are a machinist, and enjoy a challenge!
I give loading advice based on my actual results in factory rifles with standard chambers, twist rates and basic accurizing.
My goals for using cast boolits are lots of good, cheap, and reasonably accurate shooting, while avoiding overly tedious loading processes.

I could almost swear there was a guy on this forum that had as part of his signature that he was constantly in the market for green machines - for the life of me I can't remember who it was.

    Grmps,

Almost bought one off fleabay myself a couple of years back. They can be made to run well, but can also be a huge pain in your backside. Guys have posted of them running like jewelled watches, and, if I'm not mistaken, one member here got mad enough that he literally used one for a boat anchor,,,,,,.

I don't know anything about that press, but I do know the music in that video should be ILLEGAL...

But then, I'm a remnant of the 60's...

I bought a Green Machine once, and got it to work reasonably well... I enjoyed learning about the mechanics of the machine the most... I never could make ammo with it as fast as I do on my 550 or my Star in 38 Special, so it eventually was relegated to the "unused" section of my press collection... As others have said, they're a project. The press pictured in the first post looks like it fits the bill for a "project", so you have to decide if you want/like that aspect.

After a couple of years in the "unused" section of my collection, I decided to sell it. Charlie (OS OK) has it now, and gives it the time and care it needs to realize its full potential. Watch his vids to learn what it takes to get the most out of a Green Machine.
