Question Nwwd advice on dies for 375 Win Contender Carbine

Found a 375 rifle bbl for my Contender.

    Need to get some dies.

    Question 1, will 38-55 dies work ?

Question 2, since I'll be shooting 100% lead, what die set will work best ?

    Thanks in advance.

I can't speak to the 38-55 working. But 375 dies are available in several brands (Lee dies are only 33 bucks at Midway) Good luck with new project!

I’ve got the same question.... I’ve got a 375 Win rebored Marlin and my son is getting his Winchester 94 rebored to 38-55.

Can I use my 375 Win dies to size his 38-55?

Absolutely, I load both 375 and 38-55 with RCBS 375Win dies that I purchased about 1980. The .375 Win is slightly longer and slightly larger diameter(thicker brass) so crimping may be an issue, but with single shot crimp is normally not normally needed.
If I was purchasing new I think I would go with the .375 Win dies for the Contender.

The RCBS 38-55 FL die IS .005 smaller in dia than the .375 die.

The .38-55 RCBS COWBOY seater will be about .002 larger for larger cast bullets.

375 win brass is 2.020 long
    38/55 brass is 2.080 long

Therfore the 38/55 is .060 Longer than the 375 win not shorter
