    00 Buckshot Mold

I need to order a 00 Buckshot mold. I've tried using the Sharpshooter mold twice. Bought one in 09 and then again in 13. BOTH times the mold locked up and then snapped/broke. Both times I got my money back. This time I'm looking at a Lee 18 cavity mold. Is it good to go? Are there any others to consider?

    Thanks

2 cavity? What caliber? Might be fun to load up 3-4 larger round balls in some shells.

Seems like it'd take a while to make some compared to the 18 cavity.

I like experimenting with 12ga. loads. My favorite is a buck and ball combo where I use a 1oz slug, 3 00 pellets, and then sprinkle bird shot over it all before closing it up.

    Thanks

Track of the wolf and Lee have a large range of rb mold. I use the .311 round ball which is between 0 and 00. One .311 round ball equals .115 oz. I can fit 9 in a waa12 wad. I have waa12r wads and shot buffer in bound to the and make a 12 ball load.

I want to make an accurate blue dot load but so far best result was my normal clay busting recipe with 9 rbs instead of 1.12 oz of shot. Its rem gun club hull, waa12 wad, Clays and w209.primer with a star crimp.

All my molds are 2 cavity. I enjoy casting. I can do 20 pounds after work and before bed or 60+ pounds in all day cast off.

Titan Reloading - their icon is at the top lot the page - carries Lee buck shot molds - they are a site sponsor.

I don't load shotgun, but I have tried buck and ball loads in my flintlock smoothbore. I just cast them in a double cavity ball mold - I have a number of RB molds so I just picked the smallest I had which I think was .32. I can see the advantage of a gang mold for those that use a lot of buck, but it really doesn't take long to pour and drop a bunch out of a double cavity.

Does Titan offer a discount code or free shipping?

    Thanks

Size ? Just about any size you want !
In the double cavity Lee has 23 round ball moulds , sized from.311 all the way to .690.
If you would like to experiment with different sizes the inexpensive 2 cavity moulds would be just the ticket for experimenting .

That's an idea. And definitely for $25 I can buy whatever and not really care. Thanks.

If anyone knows of a discount or free shipping code for Titan please let me know. No way I'm paying $15 for the shipping of a Lee mold. Thanks

Are the waa12r wads made by Winchester? Where did you get these? Does anyone make an "0" mold?

The Waa12r were made by Winchester. I ordered the Claybusters nock offs from Midway.

I dont see 0 buck (.300 round ball). Close i was able to get was the .311 Rb. Buffalo arms has a .24 Rb mold which is #4 Buck i think.

I can't get the Claybuster knock off to shoot as well as the old Waa12r with my Lyman 525 gn. slugs and was hoping that you found a source for the Winchesters.

    I ordered the mold.

What is pressure casting? I usually quench in a bucket of water.

    Thanks!

Setting the spout on the sprue plate hole and using the head pressure of the lead to fill the mold.

Sometime molds act up. Pressure filling or letting the lead swirl around the sprue hole are tricks to make it act right and fill out good.
