how close a fit in epoxy-in barrel liner?

thinking about lining a smooth-bore with a lathe turned rifle barrel as detailed in the thread:

    http://castboolits.gunloads.com/show...02#post4393202

the bore is around .590 at muzzle but may vary, and i have no means to long-drill it to a guaranteed uniformity. i can turn the insert to fit. how close does an epoxied-in-place liner have to be to hold the barrel in place for a cartridge of the type that i am proposing? what epoxy?

    thanks

First of all, what cartridge and what type Rifle?

Second, we usually do not use epoxy. Loctite 620 is used mostly now. And you just want a slip fit. No wiggling.

A few articles on my web site about saving old guns by lining the bores might help

Ah, just read the link thread. Yo7 can buy a 50-70 liner from Track Of The Wolf and a piloted drill from PTG. Makes a barrel lining very easy.

I try for .002" clearance and use Loctite 262 ( for the last 20 years). I have seen liners move with epoxies.

I've had to deal with parts locked in with 620. If 262 is tougher, that liner aint goin' anywhere!
