Done with black guns for a bit ,back to my " roots"

Been shooting alot of 9mm carbines,AK and ar rifles with my teenager this last year.
Well I got these out and am back to low velocity relaxing plinking loads. All loaded with Unique.i think the 92 from 1900 in 38 special is the funnest.but the 45-70 with the collar button is a close second.Wait the 35 Remington with 200 plain base at 1200,no the cadet at 900 fps.Awe shoot,I like them all...

Funny you brought this up. I have and love many black guns in many configurations. I also have a 12 year old son that loves to shoot with me. I have kinda gotten away from them because my son just likes to pull the trigger as fast as he can, don’t we all! We have been loading and shooting lots of 357, 45 colt and 44 mag to shoot in our lever guns, and wheel guns to. I find it much more relaxing and my sons accuracy and mine have improved. Also the fact that I live in California, I have 20 acres, and a very well set up and safe shooting range. That said it’s a lot less alarming for the surrounding neighbors when they hear slow fire cadence from a bolt, lever or wheel gun vs fast fire from a semi auto rifle. I don’t want law enforcement coming to check out what the uninformed describe as automatic gun fire. I shoot to relax, for the last couple years I don’t relax when the black guns are out.

The last time I did a mag dump with an AR I was trying to topple a dead River Elm on my farm. That was 5 years ago. I've got several ARs about the place but I enjoy my slow shooters better- just like ya'll said.
We played a lot of Rambo back in the day with our Norincos, H&Ks, Colt Car15 etc.

I probably shoot more 38 special with a Rossi 92 than any other cartridge in any other firearm. Second place would go to 38s in a revolver. Once I get the scope mounted on the 44 Lever it might get into the competition simply because it is so hard for me to see the 50 and 100 yard targets with a peep on the 92 and it can't be scoped.

Military relic bolt guns for me. Cast in handguns as well. Haven't fire a black rifle in a long time.

All guns are fun to shoot except those with heavy recoil....at least for me. We shoot more .38’s in the lever actions and 9mm in the pistols than the other calibers. And they are cheap to cheap as well.
