FYI - I have several 38-55 rifles. antique, rebore, and modern.
...bores range from .375 to .382. and bullets are not really interchangeable
Lee makes a 250 grain plain base which I shoot.

Yep you’re going to get a number to target. .38-55 bores are all over the map. My 1885 Uberti is a .382 and getting a mold at .384 was a custom order.
And get some Starline brass. It is thinner and allows a larger diameter boolit to chamber.
I neck-turn some Winchester brass to go with my Starline brass, but buying the Starline is the easy way to go.

I have a big box of .378 dia 265 gr gas checked cast bullets and also two big boxes or .378 dia. 245 gr plain based bullets. Dont really need them if it is what you are loking for we need to get together on them. wallace in Georgia
Sounds like a good place to start. If they keyhole you probably need larger.
I specified in original post I would them sized.to.380
I use 250 grain bullets sized to .381 in my Marlin 336CB!
