Are you talking about the same profile as the 55 gr. FMJ-BT? The reason I ask is you can't cast Full Metal Jacketed bullets, since they're swaged. The process is swaging a lead core under high pressure into a metal jacket and then forming the boat tail.
Hope this helps.

Dryb2860:
Your question is confusing. FMJ is an abbreviation for Full Metal Jacket.
1. If you want to make Jacketed Bullets, then you will need swaging dies. You can learn more about Swaging Jacketed Bullets on this site in the "Swaging" area -http://castboolits.gunloads.com/forumdisplay.php?41-Swaging
There are multiple vendors of dies for making Swaged Bullets. On this site, BT Sniper is a Vendor Sponsor and sells a variety of Swaging Dies for different applications - http://castboolits.gunloads.com/foru...?114-BT-Sniper I have some of his products and they are excellent quality. I also use Corbin press and dies for swaging - http://www.corbins.com
2. If you are wanting a .224 Boolit cast from lead; then that is a different matter. A variety of nose profiles are available from different vendors. Many members of this site use NOE molds and products. They can be found at - http://noebulletmolds.com
If you are looking for a "Boat Tail" cast Boolit; that is a totally different matter. NOE was exploring a mold for "Boat Tail" boolits a year or so ago. Not sure if they made progress or not. Arsenal Molds makes a couple of different "Boat Tail" molds; but all are larger callers and they do not list one for .224 boolits. http://arsenalmolds.com/bullet-molds?limit=99999999999
A little clarification on what you are looking for will help members steer you where you want to go. Best of luck, and welcome to the site.

Thank you for pointing this out. I realize my mistake. I would be powder coating the lead bullet after it cast.
Mustang thanks. I am looking for a mold to make .224 55gr. I will powder coat faster casting them

The Lee is suppose to be pretty good.
I have the NOE 225-55-FN
It's just a older version of this one:

Would a gas check be required with these cast bullets?
The RCBS and NOE molds require gas checks if cast and lubed. If you are going to Powder Coat; then you will have to give it a try and see. For me, I still gas check all the Cast Rifle Boolits I Powder Coat.

" required" ...nope, but the amount of accuracy lost without one, makes it worth the cost and effort, IMHO.
Here is a sticky on it.
