With the skinny butt plate of the #3, I would highly recommend a 300 grain RCBS with 10-15 Grains Unique per Lyman's Handbook, or 24 grains of Reloader 7.
Your shoulder retina, and tooth fillings will thank you.
One shot of a full house 405 grain will convince you quickly.

Before it was stolen in 1996, I had one of those. I learned very quickly to stick with light bullets. Otherwise it will quite simply knock you senseless. But it was a fun gun while I had it.

Two things always make me smile, powder smoke wafting down the firing line and the ring of a Garand clip hitting the ground.
I ended up with a 350grain. Over 12.5g unique it is very pleasant to shoot. Not sure on accuracy as have not had much time to test it.
