    Jenks Navy carbine

    I acquired a very nice example of one of these "mule ears" and trying to find information on black powder load. Anyone?

    As an answer, I found that the U.S. Ordinance Board did trials on an early version of this carbine in 1842. They decided that 65 grains BP was a serviceable charge.
