    High Wall/Low Wall...

    What is the difference in these two actions?...

    Mostly the same basic action but the metal that shrouds the hammer and supports the upper portion of the breech block on the high wall is removed for the low wall, as well as trimming the breech block itself, resulting in a lighter action. Since a portion of the upper breech block is unsupported on the low wall it is not quite as strong and thus was only chambered in smaller lower pressure cartridges.
