    45-45-10 Tumble Lube

As a new caster, I tried the pc method and did not like it. I decided to use the 45-45-10 Tumble Lube that has been used to years.
Am I missing something by deciding not to use power coating and going with the old method?

What ever you can make work. PC works for me in all but my 9mm. 45/45/10 with 2 coats works in about everything including moderate rifle work. Had a few guns that failed with one coat, but 2 coats fixes that. Some people swear by PC, some people dont. I think of it as just another tool. Powder Coating just as labor intensive as anyother lubing mehods.

IMO, no, not missing a thing.

Any time you desire you can go back and PC a batch.
No law that says you can't do both.

Personally I went with BLL and never bothered with PC, but some think I'm a bit strange.

I've been using 45/45/10 on my pc'd rifle bullets lately. Doesn't harm anything and the tl lubed/pc'd bullets season the bbl so I can switch to traditional cast/lubed bullets and test the same loads in the next string. The last outing with pc + 45/45/10 using 16.0gr of 2400,was interested in the egan 308 bullet.

Bumped it up to 18.7gr with the lee 312-160tl bullet that was pc'd +45/45/10

I was getting under 2 moa for 10-shot groups @ 100yds with the lee 312-160tl bullet that was pc'd. But I was also getting this in the bbl with those high presssure/hv loads.

Started pc'ing + 45/45/10 and the black streaks went away, but I've only tested up to 2900fps+ in the 308w. So for me it's now pc + 45/45/10 in the high powered rifles and plain pc in the pistols and revolvers.

I'm just glad that there's so many good choices out there to choose from.
