i could use a favor if someone would be willing to help me.I have some ingots that i need tested after moving them to a different location and losing their identity. its only three muffin sized ingots.I would ship to you and a pm with range of each ingot would tell me which was wheel weights or range scrap. anyone willing to help me out?

Barnabus, Wheel weights usually have a ring to them when you drop on concrete floor being 10-12,15 bnh.
Range scrap being softer has a dull thunk sound.
Also a scratch with finger nail or other should show soft range scrap easily being 5-8 bnh.

You might post What state or town are you in or near might help you find a local answer.
Scrap yards also can test your lead.
BNE will give you a lead analysis using an X-ray gun if you send him an ingot.

    Hope this helps. Mike

If ll you need is to sort them by relative hardness, put them in a vice facing each other with a small ball bearing between them squeeze a little then look at the indentations. The one with the larger indentation is softer.
