    Savage Question?

I bought old Savage 340 Type rifle with no magazine ( 22 Hornet) In searching for a
clip magazine I found there are different clips for different series. How do you determine series. This rifle is not Model marked on barrel. It does have side mount
would it be under it on a older model?

    Numrich might help you out.

The schematics show different mags for different series

I would suspect the Mag you want is this one, for early Mod and Late Mod and 325c.

Anyone that owns a model 322, 325, 340, 342 840, etc..., should read this article. It was researched and written by LeeRoy Wisner, and is the best source I have found for information on these rifles.

After a PIA getting Bubbaed screws out of mount, rifle is marked 340B on the action.
