Disposing 2k 9mm primed berdan cases

This maybe the incorrect area for this and if so I apologize up front.

What is the best method to dispose of 2K+ 9mm berdan prime cases?
I am in the process of pulling the bullets and have the primed cases left over. I was given this ammo to pull since the primers would not consistently fire.

    Thank you
    Phil

the scrappers I know, will not knowingly pay for anything with live primers.

I can understand wanting to pull the j-words from ammo that won't fire reliably. If I were in your shoes, I would load them with cast boolits for plinking fun. Then scrap the cases.

Attempt to shoot them, pull those that won't shoot and scrap the rest.

I do not wish to attempt to shoot them as the prior owner end up with many squibs.

So there is a load issue as well? In that case, pull them all and fire the empty cases, and scrap them.

squibs? meaning bullet lodged in barrel?
I assumed inconsistent fire meant some primers didn't go off?
So was it a incomplete or partial ignition problem?
anyway, I'd still load the berdan cases with cast boolits and a NEW powder, then shoot them cautiously for plinkers.

Bet you could drop them at hazardous waste recycling.

Me being stupid I’d probably find a way to heat them until they pop and then use them for swaging.

+1 on JonB. Load up 20 or 30 and shoot 'em. At least see if the primers are reliable. In my experience duds are bad or partially seated primers but squibs are generally powder issues and surplus stuff has lots of that going on. I am just way too cheap to waste 2k primers.

Could a guy cook them off in a fire then scrap the brass?

Yes! That's what I did with my Paki .303s which didn't go off after I pulled the bullets.
Left the Cordite charge and wad in the cases, so it made for an exciting burn pit!~

how close to the correct size primer is the primers? if i had them and they were close enough to standard small pistol primers, id just pop the primers, drill a new flash hole, and swage the primer pocket to correct size using my swager i built..

This is old Israeli ammo that they purchased during the Clinton era. I have been told they functioned fine at first then lately they started having failure to ignite and also squibs. The price was right "free".

Yes, have done a lot of junk brass with live primers in a cast iron pot with a lid on it, a really cheap pot. Sounds like pop corn popping. Then sold the brass as scrap metal.

Pull the bullets and reuse them. Dump the powder on a bare area on the lawn.

The primed brass? Dig a hole with a shovel and bury 'em.

Heating them until they pop off could be combined with the annealing process.

Now you have jackets for a 40...
